Mercruiser Motor Opinions On A Mercruiser Motor And Alpha Drive?

Opinions on a mercruiser motor and alpha drive? - mercruiser motor

I'm in the market for a used boat, I'm really looking forward to this new, I wonder, what exactly is an alpha subunit, this boat has a Mercruiser and alpha-subunits. Opinions about the sustainability and reliability of this machine? I know that your engine Chevy 305 W / 228HP. Thanks for any help

The 228 is the last in 1984, making the engine less than 25 years. Would you buy a car for 25 years and we hope that it is reliable? I think you should look for something that later at least 10 years. The alpha model is generation 1, very reliable, if well maintained, but the old style trim cylinders were some problems. To see from all the old technology, a marine survey is reliable. The few hundred that you will pay / she may thousands. Good luck.

Well maintained and cared for is the best there is.

Les Six-Merc is perhaps the only rival.

Alpha is a name, a model fuel, if desired.

My family consists of four units and all alpha in the water and serves us well.

If you ask me outdrives any brand will work if they also have something else cared for my preference for the interior design is what works best for me, if option 1 board, 2 special 3-board I / O
